Walton Opening Day
It was a great day with a large number of starters there for the first day of the season. There were eight new
members that joined on opening day and it was an enjoyable day had by all, it was a two person ambrose format. The joint winners of the day were M Cowlrick & Fiona, K Braybrook & D Harty with 67 netts.
Walton members start the year well
There has been a unreal start to the 2010 season at Walton. In the last six days there has been three hole in ones on the course. The first was on the weekend at the Wrightsons Foursomes on the 15th hole by Mike Garrud his first ever, this was closely followed by Heather Sharp on Tuesday on the same hole, it was her second hole in one. The third was on Friday on the 8th hole by Gilbert Higgens. There have been two other hole in ones by Walton members on other courses, Mark Begovich the current President at Whangamata and Erin Hawe at the Mount Maunganui course. Thats five in just over seven weeks in the year. A great way to start the season.

PGG Wrightsons Foursomes
There was a good number of Mens pairs that turned out to this tournament which was proudly sponsored by PGG Wrightsons. There were some good scores with the top half of the field playing close to their handicaps, the best score for the morning round was B Snook & M Silvester with a 68.5 nett. The overall winners were Matthew Adams & Wataru Saito with a total nett score of 140. On the same day a Hole in One was scored by M Garrud on the 15th hole.

Walton Anniversary Day Mixed Open

There was a large number of visitors and locals that turned out to this tournament which was proudly sponsored by Lion Nathan. There were three divisions, two Mens and one Ladies. The nett winners were R Luxton 68, C Gibson 67 and W Davidson 64. The gross winners were R Blake 77 and J Williams 83. The stableford winners were P McKoy 39, M Shaw 39 and D Sweeney 39. There were only three twos J Adamson, M Shaw and M Silvester. The course was in excellent condition and the grren keeper and his staff must be thanked for their fine work.
